The Islip Town Fire & EMS Museum and Education Center will be hosting "Gettin' On The Job", 
a fundraiser career seminar and job fair on Saturday, November 3rd, 2021 from 9 AM - 12 PM. 

Geared for the next generation of firefighters/EMS providers, this seminar and job fair will
highlight career opportunities in emergency services and the skilled trades. Looking for a 
career change/upgrade? All are welcome to attend this informative event - learn about
                                     good paying career opportunities in a variety of fields allowing you to remain living in
                                     New York while among the ranks of our volunteer fire departments/EMS agencies.

Speaker Bios: 
Chief Thomas J. Richardson
is currently the FDNY Chief of Department having previously held the positions of Chief
of Operations and Chief of Training. In addition, he is a 43 year member of the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department on
Long Island where he has held every rank including the Chief of Department  (1999-2000, 2009-2011). He has been a Deputy
Chief Instructor at the Suffolk County Fire Academy since 1991. His formal education includes a Master’s degree in Homeland Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Community and Human Services.
He also completed FDNY’s Fire Officer Management Institute, a Columbia University Executive Leadership program and
the FDNY/USMA at West Point Combating Terrorism Program. 

Chief Robert Doucet is the Chief Fire Marshal for the Town of Islip Fire Marshals Office. A 32 year veteran of the
fire service, he is a member of the West Sayville Fire Department having held the position of Chief of Department
in 2013-2014. Serving as a fire marshal since 2007, he has been the Chief Fire Marshal since 2017. 

Chief Joseph Marino
 has been in the fire service for over 28 years. Coming from family with generations of firefighters, 
he is a member of the 
Islip Fire Department where he served as Chief of Department in 2006. His career path
began as a firefighter at Long Island MacArthur Airport where he rose through the ranks to serve as Chief of Department. 
In 2014, he accepted a unique opportunity to join the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) Captain at LaGuardia Airport later being promoted to the ranks of Battalion Chief and Deputy Chief.
In 2019 he was appointed Chief of Department where he oversees the ARFF units at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Teterboro Airport.
